ABOUT OVERSEAS ATHLETES

Overseas Athletes was founded by Daniel Shasteen (American-Swedish) and Laura Rincon Arias (Colombian-Swedish), both former student-athletes at Bluefield State University.

Before becoming college athletes, we were once in the same position as many of the students we now support, facing the overwhelming process of recruitment, contacting coaches, and navigating the path to a scholarship in the U.S. We experienced firsthand how exciting, yet complex and challenging, the journey can be.

Out of that experience came a clear mission: to make the process easier, clearer, and more supportive for others. What began as our personal journey has grown into Overseas Athletes, a company built on empathy, experience, trust, and genuine care for every athlete we help.

Our story is proof that with the right support, the dream of studying and competing in the U.S. is possible. Today, we are proud to help others take that same step with confidence.
What we hear most often from our clients is that what truly sets us apart is how much we care. For us, it’s never just about offering a service. We always put the student-athlete first, and their success and happiness mean everything to us. Our goal is to open doors, create opportunities, and make sure no athlete ever feels like they have to do it alone.
